Your week in food: Vegan Food Festival, Ozone at Kelmarna Gardens

Mar 3, 2020 What's On

Another week of eating. We kick off March with a couple of pop-ups, a birthday, and the Vegan Food Festival. Also, did you know Bluff oyster season is now underway?

Farm Dinners #3: Ozone

Forest ’s Kelmarna pop-ups last week had sold out way before the fact, but luckily there’s still some tickets available for the next farm dinner, this time with Grey Lynn all-dayer Ozone. For $90 a pop, you’ll be served a four-course dinner (omnivorous and vegan options available), plus a drink on arrival. Food from the farm, on the farm.
Wednesday 4 March | Kelmarna Organic Community Gardens & City Farm

Maison des Hotdog

This Thursday is your last chance to sample a good dog (or a naughty dog) at Good Dog Bad Dog’s Camper Coffee pop-up, where you can down your dog with some natural wines. Vegan-friendly option available. 5-9pm. (Their permanent spot will open in Commercial Bay soon.)
Thursday 5 March | Camper Coffee, Newmarket

NZ Street Food Festival

The NZ Home and Lifestyle Show present the inaugural NZ Street Food Festival in Eden Park, where food trucks will park up next to musicians like Anna Coddington and Alae, as well as Ozone Coffee Roasters x Goose Boards’ Pump Truck for cruiser skating, scooting and riding. Some food vendors involved include Hapunan, Go Go Mexico, Captain Crepes and Tamaki Truck.

Happy Birthday Save Ferris

Happy first birthday to Auckland’s best (slash only) craft beer bar/arcade parlour! Celebrate with the coincidental annual launch of Behemoth’s The Dude Abides while its namesake, The Big Lebowski, plays on the big screen. Also expect virtual reality bowling and a silent disco.
Friday 6 March | Save Ferris Craft Beer Parlour, Eden Terrace

Street Food at Point Chevalier

Would it really be a food news calendar without an Auckland Food Truck Collective event? On the menu this Friday – Carmel – Israeli Street Food, Sweet As Bowl, Grownup Donuts and Cream Ice Cream.
Friday 6 March | Point Chevalier Community Centre

Vegan Food Festival 2020

Travel out west this weekend for a festival full of trucks and stalls serving up plant-based food alongside a wider marketplace selling crafts, health and beauty products and more. It’s a proper festival, too, with live entertainment and cooking demonstrations. Family friendly!
