There’s a distinct joy in dining at Williams, where lunch and breakfast are treated with equal parts seriousness and creativity. The space is clean and open, stocked with art and plants, and its doors open directly on the adjoining park. The menu is a journey through vibrant flavour profiles, via dishes that showcase high-quality, locally sourced, organic and free-range ingredients. We really like the miso banana bread with sesame, mascarpone and burnt honey (add bacon and it’s the sweet-salty, umami breakfast of your dreams). Most everything here has a surprising stamp of flavour, whether that’s mandarin jam, or makrut lime and wasabi vinaigrette, or a dab of tandoori yoghurt. On the other hand, during the week (till sold out), you can get their no-frills egg and cheese bun and a coffee for just $12. And it’s totally acceptable to go just for that.
