Mr Hao

Where to go when you have a blended group of people, some of whom want to snack; some who want to eat like they’ve never eaten before; and a few who would like some drinks while they’re at it? Well, we’d probably recommend Mr Hao. A mostly-skewer restaurant on Dominion Rd where Michael Meredith’s Merediths used to be, Mr Hao is all neon, cocktails on tap and fun times, with lots of hot food (both spicy and in temperature) coming out of the kitchen. Get a whole flounder for $18, get some chicken hearts and dumplings and fries, but do it quickly, because there’s probably a hungry family waiting outside for your table.
