L'Atelier Du Fromage

There’s a lot happening at L’Atelier du Fromage. This means it’s easy to get swept away in the fizzy, Francophile bustle of it all, but it’s just as easy to quietly blend into the background of that lively scene with a book in hand. If you’re after something to eat, you might be perfectly content with one of their ready-to-eat cabinet options, but we think the menu deserves your attention, too: there’s the rotating sandwich of the day on a crusty baguette, charcuterie boards perfect for sharing, and classic French dishes like croque monsieur or a Languedoc monkfish stew served with homemade pasta. During the sunnier months, the footpath tables out the front are prime real estate for leisurely lunches. Adjoined with the cafe is a deli stocked with funky cheeses, cured meats and goods like tinned escargot and jars of rum baba. Venture upstairs and you’ll find the wine cellar, Maison Vauron — good luck trying to leave the building empty-handed.
