It's Java

We love the welcoming vibe that always greets us when we decide to drop in for a meal at It’s Java, an Indonesian restaurant which has a sense of colour, fun and community about what they do. The massive platters they offer for sharing are aimed at the kind of groups they want to attract here — big, loud, friend catch-ups; extended families — to take advantage of the good food (and BYO policy). Indonesian food is hot and vibrant, with lots of texture from peanuts and crackers and fried things, and heat from sambal (they offer four different types, which you can order on the side). Our personal favourites when we’re flying solo are the ayam penyet (fried chicken) and rawon (beef soup in a black broth).
