A small cafe only open three days a week, slinging fluffy pitas and beautiful babka.
We were weighing up whether to include Carmel, not because of the quality of its food, but because it’s open only Thursday to Saturday, 9am to 2.30pm. But with falafel this good, we can’t not recommend it. Look, everything on the short menu is great, but the falafel is next level. We’ve had a lot of good Middle Eastern cuisine in Auckland over the years, but Carmel’s falafel is still the best we’ve eaten.
