Rosita Kitchenette

At Rosita Kitchenette they trade in the flavours of the Philippines, distilling this beguilingly multifaceted cuisine into a collection of essential dishes that fit on to a single-sided menu sheet. This is heavy in pork, and involves full-on expressions of the typically sweet, salty, sour flavours expected from Filipino cooking: sticky, barbecued meats; sizzling pork sisig; pork adobo; chicken mami; beef kare kare; dinuguan; and a line-up of fun desserts — the best of which is a spectacular rendition of halo-halo, festooned with more edible bits and pieces than you can count with the fingers of two hands. We’re quite partial to their silogs: assemblages of proteins, garlicky fried rice, salad and a little sugary thing to end on. Sometimes there are additional seasonal gems as well, so keep an eye out.
