METRO X HILTON: The Hilton Auckland unveils a suite of new rooms for the luxury traveller.

21 new luxury rooms have been unveiled on the top floor of Auckland’s Hilton hotel. With stunning harbour views and and the surrounding cityscape, the refurbished level eight rooms are little pockets of luxury on the waterfront.

Adding to the existing 166 designer-furnished rooms and suites, the new floor comprises of six room-types including the Deluxe Room Plus, featuring a separate living area with floor to ceiling windows, bathrooms with marble detailing, full-sized bathtubs and a separate walk-in shower.

And Level 8’s special Bow Suite, which sits 300m out to sea on Princes Wharf, is designed in the shape of a luxury cruise liner. This suite looks out to 270-degree views of the Hauraki Gulf and the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

“Our new Level 8 rooms and suites extend our commitment to welcoming the world’s travellers and delivering exceptional guest experiences,” Hilton Auckland’s General Manager Adrian Teh says. “The unveiling of our new top floor reflects Hilton Auckland’s ambition to grow with Auckland City as it becomes a desired global destination.”

The top floor had been vacant for several years before the renovation, and the additional rooms would provide extra accommodation for visitors during upcoming events such as APEC and America’s Cup.

While preserving the look and feel of Hilton Auckland’s existing interior, the new rooms reflect their position on Auckland’s waterfront, boasting a serene colour palette with accents of blue and marbled bathrooms. In each guestroom there is a striking art panel headboard and a custom carpet which mimics a gently rolling sea.

“The opening of the Level 8 rooms will provide our guests with unparalleled views of Auckland harbour while enjoying new state-of-the-art features and furnishings,” Teh says. “It is our pleasure to welcome our guests to enjoy our new top floor experience.”
