Flight coffee

We think Florets makes the best bread in Auckland (as determined in a test we conducted late last year in which we tasted 62 different breads from 14 bakeries). They arrange it neatly in rows on shelves that face the street: seeded rye, whole wheat, overnight oats; some in tins, some bouldery, rounded cobs. The nutritious, dense loaves are all made with wholegrain flour. If you walk to the back and up the stairs, however, you’ll find more tables to sit at and enjoy a bite — toast spread with something tasty (if it’s a Pomona Deli concoction, sold in jars, you’ll also be able to take some home) or maybe a fish salad, dressed with fennel and capers.
