Lunch Monday-Friday; dinner 7 days.

Try the soft-shell crab: a light and crunchy batter; shells of melt-in-your-mouth softness, creamy sweet insides that burst in your mouth with each bite. Housed in a large, quite dark and extremely elegant room accessible from both Britomart Square and Quay St, Ebisu has resisted the temptation to become another trendy bar and evolved into a very fine restaurant. The staff are informal and know their stuff. The mood is convivial — you could spend a happy long afternoon or evening here just as easily as you might call in for a quick bite. The sashimi is delicately, deliciously fresh, the bento lunch boxes are full of treats, the drinks list is large and enticing, and as for the karaage chicken — if you like your chicken fried, it’s to die for.
