Cocoro’s is an elegant list with a hint of fun and sake as the star attraction. There’s rosé, sparkling and undiluted and you can buy by the glass, carafe or choose from a selection of wittily named flights, say Flight No 119 First Class, for a selection of four. They’ve made it easy to remember what kind of sake you like, translating them into English names such as Cotton Rosemallow, Seven Laugh Grand Cru, Vicky the Viking and Devil Killer. The wine list is global, including a Japanese merlot, and gives credit to bio-dynamic and organic vineyards. Under the heading “Before a goodbye kiss” are Japanese whiskies, dessert wines and eaux de vie. And best of all, everything is selected with the food in mind.
