We love: Little Bird raw food cafe

We love: Little Bird raw food cafe

Sep 19, 2012 Cafes

Earlier this week I made my first visit to new raw food cafe it was so fabulous I went back the next day. The cafe offers savoury and sweet treats, smoothies and drinks, with nothing heated above 46C. Little Bird owner/chef Megan May uses nut butter and cultured nut “cheese” in her cooking because her culinary philosophy isn’t only raw – it’s non-dairy too. Everything is beautifully presented, with clean, fresh flavours, and the desserts are amazing. I’m still thinking about my slice of raspberry and ginger tart with chocolate base.

The shop is lovely too.  Instead of the earthy, crunchy-hippie-commune style I expected, the room has a modern boho-chic feel. Raw food – sorry, vegan raw food –  isn’t usually my thing but Little Bird’s humble ethos won me over.

I can’t wait to go back.
