Five fun Auckland food pop-ups you won't want to miss

Burger takeover: Five Boroughs and Five & Dime meet Culprit

Wellington institutions pop up at Culprit

Cult Wellington restaurants Five Boroughs and Five & Dime are popping up at Wyndham Street’s Culprit! On Sunday 28 May, they take over the whole restaurant with NYC-inspired Five Boroughs fare, and on Tuesday 30 May, they take over Culprit’s trolley service with refined Five & Dime small plates. Bookings recommended at culprit.co.nz.

Cotto K Rd X 69

Italian-inspired, seasonally focussed comfort food

Fresh, handmade pasta dishes perfect for sharing make this pop-up particularly welcome, especially as winter sets in. Karangahape Road bar 69 has been hosting pasta pop-up, Cotto_Krd, by chefs John Pountney and Hayden Phiskie (ex-Delicious). There’s still plenty of time to get to this collab - it started on 4 May and runs till 27 July. At bar 69, 375 K’ Rd, 5-11pm, Tuesday to Saturday, see @cotto_krd on Instagram for updates.

Judge Bao X Lovebucket

A Judge Bao takeover

It’s your last chance to catch Judge Bao at haute dive bar Lovebucket for the final days of their pop-up collab, which ends this Saturday 27 May. Six “Chinese-fusion” dishes have each been paired to a crafty drink by head bartender Brandon Walker. The short menu of “playful comfort food” comes share-style, so, if your group is big enough, you should be able to try every single dish. 4–10pm, 309 Karangahape Rd
